Anyone have info on Sailun S606 tires

Hi, I am looking to purchase some tires and have never heard of these, supposedly they are chinese tires.

Does enyone out there have any experience with these tires? 315/80R22.5 j/18p SAILUN S606. $456. Cheers Gerry

I don't know anything about those tires, but have you checked Ailibaba for that size tires? they list many Chinese tires at pretty decent prices if you can buy 6 to 10 at once. A group buy might be a consideration to some. Many may wave this idea off, but should be at least checked out and give some thought. I haven't purchased anything that large yet, although I've received items directly from China at very cheap prices and of good quality, and very, very low shipping costs.

If it were my bus, I wouldn't be running a no name Chinese tire. Stick to the old reliable name tires-tires (and brakes) are not to be cheap with. If you can't afford good quality tires and brakes-maybe a bit smaller motorhome would be better for you. Good Luck, TomC

the only name Chinese tire I've heard of is Double Coin, which has some affiliation with Michelin. Forget about Ailibaba; they have some pretty bad reviews. How about Bandag or Michelin recaps for the rear? They are used by quite a few otr trucks and you can't tell they are capped unless you have tire experience.

The problem with recaps for a bus is the casings could be old. Most busnuts age tires out instead of wearing them out.

I purchased 2 Sailun tires for steers about 4 years ago they were highly recomended by a tire guy I have used for over 20 years.
My bus an 1984 Eagle 10 which always went down the road as if on rails wandered as if I were driving on sand.
I bit the bullet moved the sailuns to the bogies and bought 2 new Firestones. The tracks came back like magic. I have since purchaced 4 more Firestones for the drives.
No regerts,I learned my lesson stick with what you know. By the way, I was told Firestone Truck tires are made in Tennessee. Good tires and good whisky now thats American

I bought two new steer tires last year. I was told by tire dealers that the Firestones are made in China just like a lot of other tires. I probably would have purchased Firestone again if they were made in the USA. Who knows, maybe the dealer was wrong. I did check the six remaining Firestones I installed in 2006 and they are made in the USA.

Ya I did some research, Kal tire is switching from Kuhmo, to Sailun for there inexpensive brand. the local truck branch I was dealing with do not have much experience with Sailun. I think I will steer clear of them ( no pun intended) lol. I have Kuhmo's on the fronts and they have been working well. The Michelin RV tires sound interesting. Cheers Gerry

I printed out the catalog of Sailun tires. I then went to Goodyear tires-and many of the tread patterns look alike-do figure. I also called my truck tire guy that I've been dealing with for over 30 years and asked about Sailun tires-he said Chinese junk. I also asked what he thought what is the best tire-without hesitation he said Michelin-but also the most expensive tires. Yous gets whats yous pays fir. Good luck, TomC
