Lord, take me back to the day, lol.

Merry Christmas!

In 1978 I bought a brand new 78 Chevy Cheyenne 4x4 for $7,500..  I was making 12 per hour.

Heard the other day the average wage is now 25 per hour.  So all thing being equal a new Chevy 4 x 4 should be 15k.    Must be the new math thing.

I'd really like a rebuilt blower and heads for under $500.

I remember going down to the local Chevy dealer and wishing I could afford the 1969 Chevelle SS396 for $3600. Made $1.60 an hour in the cotton mill.

Always found the best price for DD parts was thru MCI parts out of DesPlans, Il. Includes brake parts, hell, all parts in general that they handled.
And yes, we all have those memories of "should have kept that" .
Good to smile
Hope the 2 stroke makes a come back, still my favorite to play & tune.

Having to $pay$ for ANY new parts when building and installing DD 353 and 453 mills into 1963 or soss Ford Pickups and one tons.  Seems Delany and Pacific would let us dig thru their bone piles for kinda useable parts to make up a running Detroit.  Boy....where those the days way back in 1973 or sooss.  Sometimes we even had to put in NEW rings.  HB of CJ (old coot) :)
