i while back i asked if anyone known where i could find a bus passenger counter they where used in bus
and trollys from the 1920-1940 many where then sold oversees. was told they where in use in costa rica up
till the 1960 . i saw one hear but he would not sell it so been looking well tonight at 7 pm i won one on e bay
need to restore it but will look sweet in my 57 crown check pictures the beige one is mine the red one is a restored one
ps. i will be picking it up in arcadia. stop by if you want to see it in person there hard to find when you pull
the rope a bell rings and the number changes thanks john

 does anyone else have one ? i want to restore it and reset to zero and as people come on the bus ring it
and have a count of all that came in the bus to visit   john

Looking for a farebox? They pop up on ebay from time to time. Also check with a local transit agency and see  what they have in their boneyard. You want a GFI, General Farebox Inc or a Johnson farebox. GFI bought Johnson out years ago and still has some parts.

The original fareboxes were as simple as  coin or token into inspection window and pushed down into locking safe. The Johnson has a mechanism that counts: quarters, dimes, nickles and pennies. Even had a side slot for dollars or 50 cent pcs.

I used to repair them in the past as well as empty the safes from the buses and count the cash and coin.
