soldering 120V stranded wire

Interestingly enough, a vendor told me to use stranded wire with tinned ends for the connections to solar panels.  From the responses in this thread, I would wonder if that is a good idea.  That is why I was commenting on it for this thread on soldering.

Sure it is Lin about all appliances and HVAC systems use tinn wires

I guess I misunderstood.  I thought he meant that I should tin the ends myself.
