Sometimes, no ones notices the driver is missing until you hit a curve in the road!

Hang on tight....

I have been on this board since its inception and have always wondered "whats in it for Mike" or whoever owns it.There is no charge to be on here but there is definetely a cost to maintain it. Who pays that cost? Its certainly not the users.

Just wondering.

Revenue is generally made via the advertisers....banner ads, etc and other avenues that prove to be lucrative.

There is  allot of potential, you just have to tap into the right vein....so to speak ;)

Knowing Mikey for years if this board doesn't pay it's own way it will go away he is all business and bottom line that is the reason there is no magazine and it could happen here.

I doubt he will pay anyone to maintain this board if Phil has left

I'm a mere noob around here, but I hardly read and hardly ever post because it's the slowest site I ever browse.  Coming here reminds me of my AOL dial-up days back in the late '80s or early '90s, and I'm on dedicated fiber optic -- the problem isn't on my end.  Guess I need to start hanging out at the other board, in case I ever actually get my rebuild finished.

Cheers, John

So, I've made some changes.  Looks like some improvement.  DNS resolving was very confused.  I may still need a system restart later today.  I'll be keeping an eye on it tho'.

Thanks for your patience!

Up until the last week or two the site has always responded very quickly for me.  Nothing like dialup.  A few years back performance got really bad, but the server or something was upgraded and speeds got much better.

Getting in is OK now but going from thread to thread and page to page is like waiting for paint to dry Still.
Someone on another thread said it works well on Chrome browser. It does pretty good on chrome.
