Generator Exhaust From Quiet Box

I searched the archives and didn't find what I need to know. I have built a quiet box for my Kohler 12.5KW generator which has a remote radiator. I am now designing the exhaust system to exit the quiet box. I want to know what people have used to exit the box through the floor. The floor of my quiet box is the aluminum bay floor, then two thickness of sound attenuating sheet rock-total 1 1/2" thick, then 2 thickness of mass loaded vinyl-total 1/2" then 2" sound attenuating high density foam for a total of 4 1/4". I have looked at triple wall water heater exhaust, double wall water heater exhaust, double wall fireplace chimney, double wall fireplace firestop wall thimble, insulated double wall water heater exhaust, etc and am now confused. I am just not sure what the best solution to use for this install. My generator will be fixed to the floor of the quiet box, it will not slide. What ideas do you have or what has worked for you?

A good exhaust wrap with a pass through flange will do the trick for you   

Building the pass through is fairly easy cut a piece of pipe that the exhaust will pass through then 2 plates top and bottom and seal it off with the wood stove door sealing rope you can buy from HD for 20 bucks

I read your response but it is not making sense to me. Can you describe it in more detail? For example, you're saying a pass through, you mean a pipe within a pipe like a double wall (pipe within a pipe) water heater pipe or just a single piece of pipe that the exhaust pipe goes down through to exit? The top and bottom flange I get but not sure where to put the wood stove wrap.

When I get home I will email some photos to you Rob it is a pipe in a pipe (double wall) with 4 bolts you tighten the 4 bolts on the flanges with the exhaust pipe through the outer pipe and the rope acts like packing on hydraulic cylinder holding the pipe in place and seals it it off . 

If you know what Dresser coupling are it's the same principal  I see no reason why a metal dresser coupling would not work for you if you remove the rubber gaskets and replace it with door rope and a little fab work

You can buy one Summit did sell the pass through for exhaust and they are also use in the construction industry for piping requiring expansion through different types wall materials but they are so easy to make we are talking about just going through a wall or floor right

The only problem I see is 24"is the standard length.

Yes, Steve, nothing shorter. I am talkling to a man locally to see if he can make a custom one that is more like 8-10".
