Tom,

It depends on the bus. On the GMs, you can put a socket on the camshaft pulley nut and turn it with a long breaker bar. On the MCIs, a socket on the crank pulley works. On the Eagles, a pipe wrench on the miter box does the trick.

I use a 1 1/2 in socket on the camshaft or crankshaft on most buses if you have a older Gm with the muffler in the way of of the cam pulley and the goofy fan drive bumping with the starter is about the only way unless you have the AC pto drive still in place

good luck

Make sure you have no fuel getting to the cylinder! Don't ask how I learned that little lesson

Tom, DD sells a small manual, called the Field Service Manual, whch will guide you through the valve lash sequence. Be ABSOLUTELY sure you have the governor in the shut down position before you rotate the engine,,wire it closed if you haveto.
