Engine Door Louvers

I'm considering the installation of louvers on my engine compartment doors. I priced the ones at McMaster Carr. They are pretty "pricey". Anyone know of a source for less expensive ones? My coach is a MCI 102A-3 with a warm 8V92. The thermostats have been replaced which helped a lot. If I hold 70 mph for very long the temp starts creeping right on up. I don't normally drive that fast, but would like the option. I'm assuming that it would be best to install the louvers just above the s/s rather than the wide door above that? Thanks.

I installed intake vents on the side, then vented the rear doors.  Any of the boat supply houses have lots of options, chrome, stainless steel, plastic, fiberglass to pick from.

Will try to attached a couple photos.  By the way, same bus, blue is before the paint job, white after.

Thanks Bill, did it make much difference in the engine temp? Also curious if it kept a bit of the oil from accumulating on the rear of the bus?

Believe it help a little.  If doing it again, I would adjust to handle more volume on the rear doors.
As for the oil, about the same.  I did extend the exhaust out, a little. That help a little with the oil on the rear of the bus.

For louvers to be effective, they would have to be the size of the whole door. Make them bigger. A lot of hot air moves through the engine compartment.

I made mine fairly large to allow a lot of hot engine heat to escape. I got them at the recycle yard and painted them to match the bus, they are aluminum.
