The Courier 96 sold!!

It has been listed on Kijiji Calgary for the last couple of years. I have had a few bites now and then, but never the right buyer. And I didn't want to give it away for next to nothing either. Well last week, someone from Vancouver emailed and phoned and said they liked it so much, this is what they were looking for, such a cool bus, etc. Long story short, we made a deal close to my asking price. I just got home tonight from delivering it to them in Vancouver and flying back. They are really green about buses, but I really know they are the right buyers for it. They are so exited, and I think they will enjoy it and look after it. It ran so well all the way there yesterday. (850 km, 500 miles). If you don't know, I overhauled pretty well everything on it the last few years that I owned it. And such a great feeling for me to be able to present it with everything working so well. I was passing most transport trucks up the hills with my turboed 4-71, great fun! Part of me didn't want to see it go. But 2 buses is 1 too many... I still have the 5C to enjoy.

Congrats! Does this mean the bus market is coming back?

Well, I would've rather keep it than give it away for 5 or 10 grand. I am lucky to have found a buyer that really got exited about it and was willing to pay a little more for a special bus. He said they looked at several buses that were run down and not worth a second look. They wanted something ready to use. Off course what I got for it is only a fraction of what I spent over the years, but I am happy nevertheless, and so is the buyer.

Glad to hear it JC.  ;D  Did you tell them about the bus boards and the rallies? :)

The two happiest days of boat bus ownership are the day you buy it, and the day you sell it.

A shameless plug for my business - visit www.magazineexchange.co.uk for back issue magazines - thousands of titles covering cars, motorbikes, aircraft, railways, boats, modelling etc. You'll find lots of interest, although not much covering American buses sadly.

Congratulations JC! Now to use your fine 5C!  Good Luck, TomC

Congratulations Jc on the sale of your bus. , we are in Winnipeg visiting the grand kids, heading from here to the rally in Barkerville next month. Are we going to finally see the new bus at the rally in Barkerville?

We have been on the road since February with a short stop at home in April for 3 weeks.

Thanks Gary,

we are thinking about the Barkerville rally and would like to come. Never been to that part of BC.

You are really enjoying the high life in your bus I see. Are you retired now?
