I want to raise roof 8 inches on 102D3 and will need new caps. R&M says that they do not have caps for D3. Does anyone know where I can get theses caps made? Thanks

Cut it above the windshield fill the 8 inches in with a chopper gun or a 8 in fiberglass blank and glass it in or hand lay it same on the back except you leave it intact on the top and fill the bottom that is the way I have saw it done any fiberglass shop can do it for you or you can do it yourself I don't care for fiberglass work so I hire it done lol

Call Gary Bennett at B&B Coach in Vegas he did the roof raise on one of the sister buses from Northwest for Les on the BNO board I could be wrong but I don't remember Gary buying caps for Les's 102D3

Hi Rod,

Why can't you R&M's standard 102 caps? They are the right size for your D3 too.

I have them on my C3 and they look nice.

Good Luck

Nick when I contacted R&M the reply I got was that they had no caps that would fit 102D3.  I guess I will have to try and find someone to do the fiberglass never had any luck with that stuff.

I have a dumb question. Why would you want to raise a 102D3 8" aren't they already high inside 6'10" or better. From what I see every day on the local roads the 102D3 seems very high compared to my Prevost which is on 76" inside height.

I am a tall person and the roof is too close to my head. By the time I pu AC ducts in I will be getting knots on my noggin whic is already bumpy enough.  Rod

I hear you there, Rod. We raised ours 8in, and I wouldn't go back. Good choice, if you have the money.

What is the actual exact stock interior height of a 102D3? Is it 6' 10" ? Is that an actual number?

I don't recall them having bumps! That was mostly a "Buffalo" or "Scenic Cruiser" thing!

LOL! No don't do that! If ya do the rest of us can't learn from Clifford's replies. And good luck getting Clifford to read & reply to PM's! (at least he doesn't mine and several others I know, but that could be because we are like red headed step children too!)

I've been lucky enough to get him directly on the phone before! But that was a lucky break. In any case I'm glad to know the actual interior height of the 102s. Still not high enough to skip a roof raise. Going to do some research to find out what the tallest interior stock height
Of a bus was. Prevost? MCI? VanHool? Eagle?
