They will only replace if you saved the old tire.. How many people had a blow out and were told we don't make bad tires it must be your fault?  And then saved the tires...they will only be replacing tires from today on...... Bunch a f,ing crooks.

I can't see anything that says that they're only going to replace tyres that have failed - it's a normal recall covering all tyres of that type made over a 6 year period, so I expect lots of people are going to be very happy to receive free brand new replacement tyres for the worn ones currently on their vehicles.

I would also imagine that anyone who did suffer a failure of the type of tyre now being recalled will now be able to file a bullet-proof claim for compensation.

A shameless plug for my business - visit www.magazineexchange.co.uk for back issue magazines - thousands of titles covering cars, motorbikes, aircraft, railways, boats, modelling etc. You'll find lots of interest, although not much covering American buses sadly.

You must have a tire to make the claim.   Say one tire blows in 2007  and you were  told it was your fault another in 2008 and told the same thing, and 2 more in 2010
And again told sorr you are s o l.....would you have any reason to save the tires? Then in 2012 you find out about a recall, what recourse do you have?    None

Those are all urban, low speed tires, not likely a problem for us unless you bought a city bus and have not yet replaced with highway tires.  They are for city buses and garbage trucks, limited to 62 mph.
