I few weeks back I had a font airbag failure. John at Central Florida Bus Repairs looked after the repair "Great service" (Thanks Ace for the reference)  However I now have found a small leak in another front bag.

A few years back I replaced all the rear bags with the "rolling lob" type and has worked great. I think I need to do the same with the front axle. Would anyone know the part # for the front bags. MCI has a conversion kit, but it is basically just the airbags, and instructions , and I believe I could source them local (we are back in Canada) for less money (if I had the part #)

Thanks

When you get the price, consider the shipping amount- it's free at MCI.

Is the bag itself leaking, or is the bag leaking around the bead flange?

I had a problem with one of the rear bags leaking on my MC7. We tried 2 new bags, replaced the flange and bolts, re-cleaned the plate I it looked like new steel after sanding it) and verified it was not bent. Still leaked.  Tried tire bead sealer; worked for about 6 months then started leaking again. Final solution was to squirt some liquid tire sealant (green slimy stuff) into the bag when the bottom plate was undone. The sealant found it's way to the leak and stopped it. No chance of the goo getting into the air system unless the bus ends up on it's roof.

We checked the bead flanges suppied by MCI, and found some poor quality control in the flanges; good idea to check these first on a flat surface before installing.

Regards.

Mark, if the bus ends up on the roof, i would guess that the last thing you would be worried about is a little bit of green slime getting into the air system. ;D
Used to own a 1968 MCI 5A and a 1977 5C.

If your bus has never been rolled over on its roof, how do you tickle its stomach?
You don't have to believe everything you think.

Thanks for the suggestions. The bag itself is leaking through a small pinhole.

I have a local supplier that claims he can get the bag if I can supply a number. I would expect MCI has sourced an existing bag from a supplier, I don't believe they would be propitiatory to MCI.

I have a coach with three older airbags (one leaking) I think I would rather make the changeover. The ride is a lot better with the "new style" bags
