I just saw a disturbing news story about knock off parts, of particular interest was Bendix brake valves.  Illegal copies of Bendix brake valves have been sold all over the U.S. and have caused some major accidents.  Bendix never knows its a knockoff part until after the accident happens and the lawsuit is usually filed.

The report said that if a product has an unusually low price compared to MSRP usually found in flea markets or obsure internet sites, then it may be a knockoff copy.  It is very difficult to tell the real thing from the fake.

Frightening, isn't it?

Hello.

I buy a lot of my stuff direct from MCI.

Could I find lower costs elsewhere? Yes.

But MCI, like every other reputable company, has in place quality assurance programs.

Counterfeit parts and fasteners have been a scrourge on industry for many years now.

I'll focus my cost savings efforts in places other than air system valving, me thinks!

happy coaching!
