Busted Knuckle

I don't know any conversion "busnuts" around the Bluff, but I do have friends that have a bus company in Doniphan. (if that don't make us busnuts nothing does!)

I know there are several over near the area of Chapel Hill but don't know them by name or exactly where they hail.

Ken,
Got the PM, thanks.  I'll be in the Chapel Hill area for two days visiting a friend.
I plan to spend one of those days running around looking for old motorcycles.  I mess with Guzzi's, /2 & /5 BMW's , first Gen Ducati's and triumphs.  I'll step up for the right Indian or Vincent.  If you know where any are I'd love to visit with the people.

Thanks
Bill

I've been riding since I was 11 years old, that makes it 42 years now, dirt and street. Call Ray Dye at CMI in Nashville. He may have something or know where some stuff like that is. I'll do more checking Monday, if I come up with anything I'll let you know. If you need Indian stuff, Carl Papp in Tuscon AZ is a expert engine builder on the old Indians. He's built a lot of tooling especially for those engines. He bought my 4104 with a 6V92. The guy who owns Wheels of Time motorcycle museum in Maggie Valley buys and sells bikes. I've spoken with him several times but can't think of his name now, Carl and him do some business.

Speaking of old Indian's there is an old Bike shop in Wickliffe, KY on US 51 just off US 60 that used to be Indian dealer. Still got old time dealer ship sign hanging out front.

Never had time to stop and look around or ask question when I was empty.

Don't have any other info or details just know I've been by it countless times.

Hi Bill,

We're in Shelbyville, Tn., about 30 minutes east of Chapel Hill.

I have a long motorcycle history (a tad over 60 years) and, have an antique BMW with full fairings and a side car which could be had for the right price (?).  I also have for sale Randy Cleek's first flat track machine in its original trim.

Give me a call if you'd like to come by.  We can talk buses even if we don't make a motorcycle deal.

Oh yes, and you can also buy the original minute book of the Motorcycle and Allied Trades Association dating from 1927 until its transformation in 1967 to the Motorcycle Industry Council.  That's also the year MATA began the American Motorcycling Magazine.  Lot's of history with unforgetable names like John Harley, Bill Davidson, Bill Kennedy and more.  The official seal press is also available.
