Tell them the price you paid for it-it is the only price that is important.  They are trying to get you to say in the 100's of thousands and then try to charge registration on that price.  ONLY tell them the price you paid, and plead ignorance to every other request.  Good Luck, TomC

I agree with Tom. Plead ignorance to the original price of a 28 year old vehicle, because you DON'T know that information. You might have to ask for a superviser if you run into another ignorant clerk who only knows one way to do things.

I went down and got it registered to day.  Long story short, we settled on 75k.as  the msrp.  It cost me about $600.00  to do it here in NH.  How does that compare to other states?  Thanks for the help.

Whoa,

I have a 1967 GM New Look.  just like every other bus I have owned, the DMV is only interested in the price I paid and I was always taxed on that amount. Even so, getting the4 exact price of a bus when new is tricky as the operator who buys one or two will pay a lot more per vehicle than a company or authority who buys 350 at a time.  But glad you got it registered.  Sometimes that is an adventure in itself.

I could have gotten the bus for free, it still would have cost me between 5 and 6 hundred dollars.. Nobody cared what I paid , just  as long as I had a bill of sale. Even I can gin up a bill of sale for $25.00.!!
