When we go out and buy an older bus chassis to use as a motorhome, a vehicle that quite possibly normally has already transitioned into a limited use vehicle before this point, this kind of stuff is normal.

Going forward from here it very often is not going to get any better either, now that you have it it is even getting used less.

Looking forward hypothetically will you be using it 10000 miles a year? I know we all think and hope that will be the case it probably will not be. Going out to the camper to discover that something that was working the last time you parked it is no longer may also be something you might have to get prepaired for.

This is an aspect that is often overlooked and really makes it tough for some. IMO lack of use creates just as much if not more maintenance and repair costs if for no other reason because of the related lesser reliability and additional expenses on those related breakdowns.

If you are someone who likes everything working correctly and "just so" this hobby will be a lesson in perseverance.

If I were you I would make sure I had a pretty good set of tools and was quite confident I knew my camper when traveling.

They are a challenge you gotta love it. :)
