Does anybody know what this type of lock is called?

PP

My first thought was a camlock, but after studying it for a minute, I'm not sure. Can I get the booby prize for trying?  ;D

This lock was used in place of the stock latch on the baggage compartment on an MCI nus.  What type of key it that?

We use locks very similiar to these in the casino  business. We call them barrel locks and use them to lock the lids to blackjack tables chip trays as well as some of the locks inside many slot machines. They are fairly secure and hard to get copies made except form licened locksmiths.

I worked for a candy route vendor in the late 1960's and we used them (or something very similiar) on the candy machines and coke machines back then.

Yeah, I'd heard that cylindrical key called a "barrel key" on drink machines back about that time too.  I'm betting that if you got to a good lockshop and asked for "barrel locks" or "barrel keys", they'd know what you were talking about.

My bike lock is of that type. Never had to get a new key though.

A shameless plug for my business - visit www.magazineexchange.co.uk for back issue magazines - thousands of titles covering cars, motorbikes, aircraft, railways, boats, modelling etc. You'll find lots of interest, although not much covering American buses sadly.

Jerry32

had that type in vending machines

Looks like a hood lock I use on a fiberglass hood. Last ones I bought was off ebay.

I have them on my bay doors and if I remember correctly they are called ACE locks

I put these on my 4106 bay doors.   Bought them from Butch Williams, a member of Great Lakes Converted Coaches.   Email is butch@rvlocks.com   Phone is 574-664-3313
