Yeah and just think Clifford in 3-4 months those things will come down to 1/2 or less what they are bringing now.

I just checked ebay and my phone is about 6 months old and it's less than 1/2 what it was and the accessories are too!
Mom bought the "Ballistic" case for mine from AT&T and I was floored that she paid $50 just for a case. I was sure I'd find it on ebay cheaper and back then it was $50 + shipping on ebay. Now it's $24.95 w/free shipping!

There may be some insurance if it was purchased with a credit card.  Amex will extend factory warranties.   I know this is not a warrantee repair but it might be worth a call.   ( no pun intended :)  )

BK, did yours come with an anti submersion device? ;D

l I found it in the parts washer

Clifford, I'm so glad you did that!!!!

I just shows me I'm not the only one who looses things in odd places. I was using my phone to take some pictures of the inside of a return duct once & somehow left it in the duct. I realized I had lost my phone on the next call but figured it fell out of my pocket under a house somewhere. I got a new phone & was trying to round up all the phone numbers to put in it.

Meanwhile, a few days later, we get a call from the same customer, (the wife) complaining of some kind of weird rattle in the duct work. My partner went on that call.  Before he went to check out the problem, the husband complained about how he keeps hearing "this damn ringing" by his chair & his wife thinks he is loosing his mind. While my partner was under the house, the low battery alarm sounded on the phone & ,of course, he found it. I don't think he actually told the customer what the problem was but we didn't charge for the call & they were happy.

The next time I went back there, the husband told me about the ringing & now it has quit & how he thinks the wife is trying to convince people he is crazy so "she can get all the damn money". I told him to stick to his guns. He wasn't any crazier than me.....

ebay may have good prices, but you all may also want to check Amazon.  They've got a ton of phones to sell, cause i've been putting them in the bins.  i hope someone needs a phone because if they don't sell them i may not have my fall "earn enough to stay in Fl money".  :D

see you all in Arcadia!

I still have an old Startac laying around here somewhere. I loved it.... Even in the middle of Nebraska it would pick up a signal from 30 miles away. Too bad they don't even support analog anymore.

I never had an analog only cell phone, but my older digital/analog phones almost never worked when on analog.  When I was at home in the Minneapolis area I was always on digital and things worked great.  When I was in rural areas and the phone switched to analog I would usually have only one bar and if I could make a call at all it would have too much static to be usable.  I thought I was going mis analog when I got my first digital only phone, but that wasn't the case.

Digital works very well in fringe reception areas.  I can almost always make a call as long as I have service even with zero bars.  There are more and more extremely rural areas that never had cell service that do today with digital.  I was shocked that I could get cell service this year in the middle of a dry lake bed with no buildings for miles around.  It used to be that cell service ended at least 20 miles up the road.
