Hi Dr Steve,
My name is Clovis and I live in Russell County Ala. My user name here is closha45. I am a ham, my call sign is KR4FP and I hold an
extra class license. Nice to meet you, I have a mci-9 but it has not been converted yet, needs lot of work. I do have the seats out
but thats about it. I am also a disable veteran. Every time I think I might get started either myself or my wife gets sick, maybe some day.
Take care
PS
I do read the forum every night and enjoy it very much.

I am not a Ham, but my brother Steve (a non busnut, he owns a travel trailer) is.  My grandfather was a ham when they first required hams to get a license. My brother petitioned the FCC to get my grandfather's call sign. He had to send in a copy of his and my mothers birth certificate to prove relationship. So, My grandfather's call sign W9BDN is still active and on the air!  Jack

Thanks to all for your additions. I will edit my first post to update the list.

Since many busnuts are do-it-yourselfers, safety-concious, as well as crazy, ham radio is a good hobby choice for us.

OK I have to own up. I am a ham enthusiast with a "slightly modified" Galaxy 99.
But I'm a renegade and have never gotten my license.
Was just talking to my uncle in Nampa, ID the other day and he encouraged me to go get my license now as they have removed the morse code requirement.

I am going to try and follow up on that soon.

But then I have to get my radio set back up. (haven't had it set up for about 10 yrs now. I used it as a base a couple yrs after trucking but haven't since.)
;D  BK  ;D

PS Will let ya know when I do get the license.

I know that this is a very old thread, but rather than start a new one I thought I'd just add my name to the list.

Any other ham operators out there working from their bus? Love to hear what you're using for an antenna, especially for CW on 40 meters.
