Coming home from Ventura, Ca this afternoon, passed (in my car) a Van Hool.  But I've never seen one like this before.  Looked newish.  Single rear axle.  Looked to be about 35 feet long.  Tried to find it on Van Hool's website.  Nothing. ???

Are you sure it wasn't this?  http://www.abc-companies.com/models/3035REpg1.asp

It looks similar to a Van Hool, but it is made for ABC Companies by an American company.

Maybe so.  Thought I saw the Van Hool logo, but I was moving pretty fast. Looked like the one in  the link.

The VanHool 809 is a 35 ft bus built in Brazil you see those used by Mexican bus operators along with the 35ft Volvo

Even though the engine sounds good at 280hp, it still only puts out 660lb/ft torque. We've sold a Thomas bus with the same Cummins ISB and the customer was just not happy with it-slow up the hills (about the same power as a 4104).  Suggest always at least a ISC at 370hp and 1050lb/ft torque, or the motorhome version of the ISL at 450hp at 1250lb/ft torque-now you'll be going up over the hill!  Good Luck, TomC
