How To- Fuel line from a main tank to Generator

Dougyes brought up an idea I have had in the back of my mind, when I finally get our bus home. That is tapping into one of the large fuel tanks (we have two) at the rear of the bus and running a line to the front where the generator lives.

So here's the wish. There are two fuel tanks in the rear of our Silversides, the front one is 78 gallons and the rear one is 48 gallons. I have been using the rear tank (48 gallons only) so for a longer generator stay (away from a wall plug) I thought it would be a good idea to tap into the front tank and I would have 78 more gallons pf fuel for the generator. presently we have a 12 gallon tank up front and that gives me a reliable 24 hour run time. The 78 gallons would give me about 150 more hours of run time. (Total 175 hours of run time).

And here are the problems:  There is some fuel in that tank I would like to use for the generator. It has been in there for several years so I am sure there are things in there we don't even want to talk about. So how do I drain that old fuel. (I have tried, and tried to get the drain plug open with no success what so ever) Now how do I tap into that tank so I can run a fuel line up front. Also do you think I will need an additional electric fuel pump to move that fuel to the front or will the fuel pump on my 10 KW Onan/Kubota) be enough to pull the fuel to the front?

Any and all suggestions will be considered.

Thanks in advance.
