We have friends at the balloon fest and they have met the owners and an Eagle that was done by Country Coach Conversions.

Didn't know that. He said the Paint was the best he had ever seen on any conversion Prevo factory stuff included. Said the guys name was Larry Jones. Sound familiar to anybody? He told them CC did 3 or 4 Eagles.

Funny story the eagle was lined up with 5 flexible and our friends were invited up into their row with the flexible but only after they went and viewed their XL and completely questioned him about it because and I quote " they didnt normally let people with "P" models in close to camp with them and the flexibles.

He said he felt like he was being interviewed for a job. :o

Too funny    The "P" Models    I like it  ;D

I think ours just picked up a new name.

Hey Joe,
I'm the guy with the CC Eggel. I call Eagle's 'Eggels'. I call Prevost 'P'
models and Flxibles 'Fixables'.
The Fixable bunch had requested that I put on a rally for them for the fiesta since I live in the area. They welcomed me join their club as they would any other owner of anything that you sleep in as long as you have interest in Flxible Busses. We had two class C units that were with us and have been previous VL-100 owners.
As a non-Fixable owner you are referred to as a 'SOB'....'some other brand'. They are a fun bunch of folks to hang with and they like to eat Ice Cream. No special brand of motor home, bus or coach required for this activity. They like to do things and just happen to own buses. They are more about the people than the bus.
We met your friend as he toured through the mini bus rally at the Balloon Fiesta. He saw our coach was a CC conversion and he was curious about the similarities between their 'P' model and our Eggel being that they were converted by the same converter. The similarities are striking and we enjoyed looking at each others coaches. We established what I believe to be the basis for a longer term, low maintenance, friendship.
He was not interviewed, other than to find out what his name was and where he hailed from. He was welcomed with open arms as any other coach owner that showed interest would be. If you had showed up you would receive the same welcome.
The FOI bunch are super folks as are the majority of coach conversion owners. Yes, our bus has a nice paint job but I would hope that it is more about what rides on the inside of the bus not what is on the outside.
Our fiend has a GREAT coach on his XL and they seem to have gotten into the thing of full timing. He is talented and has a great tool box as he demonstrated as he assisted in the replacement of my generator cooling fan. I believe that he and his wife feel that they are welcome anytime.
All this said, he is invited to the FOI rally in Wickenburg, AZ with the pre-rally starting on the 14th of January, 2012 at the city park. It is dry camping. The FOI  rally starts on the 19th thru the 22nd . We plan to be there. You are welcome in your 'P' model along with a blue Trek, if the Treckie isn't busy with the Eggels.  We will then move to Quartzsite and probably go bug someone in the Mojave area.
I will PM you if you want a registration form for the FOI 2012 Rally.
Hope to hear from you.

Flatspot Id love to come thanks for the offer unfortunately it isn't in the budget.

The "interviewed" comment was posted tongue in cheek just as it was told to me by Bill. Hope that comment was not misunderstood.

Keep those acronyms coming. If we were not in a P model we would be leary of us too ::)

Bill and Jody came thru here on the way out west. Your welcome here too if you ever need a spot. Houseguests are always a good time.

Van,
I'll scan a form and PM it to you. Like to see you there....in an Red Eaggel.
Joe, none taken. I appreciate the offer of a place to park hope that we can take you up on that sometime.
I know that Bill was looking for a board to follow the bus community on and I steered him to here, I hope that he is lurking in the background looking for a time to join in.

They did get off the ground on Saturday and Sunday the last weekend of the Fiesta. Balloons went East towards the snow covered Sandia Mountains. Lot's of photo opportunities. If I'd known you're were still in the area you would have been welcome to join us for activities. It went exceptionally well and all the rain settled the dust. Everyone gained at least 10 lbs as we ate our way through the fiesta. Tuesday and Wednesday were rainy but we rode the steam train in Chama on Tuesday and indoor activities on Wednesday. Went to Doug Wagel's place and saw all his hot rods. He is a 'P' model owner and one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet. Two of his rods are on display in the Hot Rod Hall of Fame and he won Starbird's Go For The Gold award in the Tulsa OK show last year. Quality hand built rod's.

Larry -

Did you happen to see Ben & Karen in the P w/ the Mini, or Chris & Cherie in the blue 4106, at the Balloon Fiesta?  They were both there, Karen having a field day taking pics.

RJ,
Didn't see the 4106, did see the P model. There was a model 7 Eaggel parked with the boomers that was from CA a fellow by the name of Dick was with it. Nice coach.
There were thousands of RV's there and if you haven't done this once in your lifetime you should plan to do so even if it is for a few days.
We were in the low rent district dry camping at $25/day. I heard that there was a group there that paid $1000.00/day to park next to the field and have meals catered and their dogs walked and picked up after.
Even heard rumor that one of them had their driver deliver their coach and they flew in....

Maybe next year you could host a rally.  We were there the first weekend and had a blast.  We ran into the Flexible crowd at the Sandia Casino.  Sandia allows free camping on a portion of their lot.  It is dry camping on asphalt but nice as there was plenty of room.

We weren't allowed to park with the group in the Fiesta campground.  There has to be some advance contact with the Fiesta people to park together.

Mike,
I saw your bus and it is a sweet ride. I wish that I could have seen it up close. Sorry that you couldn't have joined up with us. I don't know about hosting another rally there but I will do something the same time of year in the area. I know a place that is close that I can get pull thru spots with 50 amp full hook up for $10/day. There is a lot to do in the area and we could do the fiesta for one day.
Any interest?
