GPS mount gets suction mounted to the face of the speedo when I go charter driving...

With that sassy girl muted.

Already reviewed where I'm going, it's there as a reminder and an arrival estimator.

I don't like it mounted on the windows blocking my view.

happy coaching!

A good tach is great to have, but pretty lousy as an odometer. GPS does both, even on my android phone.

I also have the Garmin 7200 and love it. If you don't put goto in it will not bother you with recalculating and you have the map showing where you are. You can also mute it and not have to listen to the annoying instructions if they bother you.  Rod. PS BK I sent you an email and never got an answer. Got addy from profile. Rod

In case any ones interested. Classic Instruments sells a device called Sky Drive that they claim works with most electronic speedometers. I want to put Auto Meter gauges in my 4104 so I'm going to give one a try.

I just checked out the Sky Drive, and it looks good, but it is only a sender and is about the same price as the Speed Hut speedometer. :o

I use my GPS as the speedo 90% of the time, it is easier to read and much more accurate.

However, for navigation it is not to be trusted, it has tried to lead me astray more than once and it sure gives some weird routing. It does keep you on your toes though!!

I have the sound turned off, drives me nuts!!

Imagine if the software were subsidised by oil companies or dopt stores, etc.. It would be in "thier" best interests to make you go out of your way, either to burn more fuel or route you past thier business.

Several times I watched my buddies Nuvi route us rediculously out of our way, so much so it made no sense at all. Or did it?

Are you aware of IBM's patent application for "DETERMINING TRAVEL ROUTES BY USING FEE-BASED LOCATION PREFERENCES"?

You've just summed it up.
