It's a '75 Prevost with a '95 Marathon conversion...

http://www.nationalmultilist.com/listing.php?listing_id=127706

It seems way over priced at $48k, there's another comparable one (earlier bus, later pro-conversion) that's asking $14k.

Any thoughts would be appreciated as always,

Cheers, Paul.

Hard to tell by the picks, but I wouldn't pay 48k for the first one.

Yeh, it's the first one I'm interested in but they would have to accept a seriously low ball offer for the math to work. Anyone want to guess on a fair price? I'm guessing new tires and house batteries for a start and a paintjob. $10-$20k maybe?

I'm not a Prevost guy, so I can't tell what year it is, but it makes no sense to me that someone would pay Marathon to convert a 20 year old bus.  Actually, I always thought Marathon only worked on factory new shells.  There is something wrong in that description for sure.

Right and I love the 500hp engine. It's a '75 so not without a repower. And how can it have 89k miles if it was in service for 20 years? A quick look at the plumbing bay would tell me if it was a 90's Marathon conversion right? I do love those!

So am I about right in my value estimate assuming it checked out with a mechanic?

Cheers, Paul.

Yeah Paul I liked the 500 HP engine in a '75 model bus.

Don't get me wrong, it's possible for it to have had an 8V92 in '75. But highly unlikely a 500 HP one.

I'm not an expert on conversions either, but I'm just not feeling it was done in '95 by Marathon from the pics either!

Wow! Is Bobs conversion finished? Is it the one that had fire damage? A salvage title doesn't spook me. I looked at the pics but couldn't see any pics of a completed interior.

Take a close look at both buses contrary to the belief those model of Prevost will rust right up there with a Eagle,I don't know the people that well that has the 500hp engine but the last time I saw it wasn't no 500 it hp had a 8v71 turbo it was for sale at Bus'n USA 1 year, the guy selling the 72 model seems like a honest type guy he bought a friends of mine Eagle that had 2 Eagles one had to go

good luck

The 89 prevost I have has never had fire damage. The 98 I bought to build as a salvage shell had a rear brake fire. I'm keeping it..  Trying to finish it for winter run to the sun. That's one reason I still have 2. At my age that winter trip is a important part of life.   Bob
