No Jersey Roundup this year

We're sorry to announce that we will not be hosting the Jersey Roundup this year.  Several events have just made it unrealistic for us to attempt to hold the rally, including but not limited the massive tornado that devastated a large part of Joplin, MO and the subsequent influx of contractors and displaced homeowners and renters resorting to a mobile lifestyle for awhile.  

Also, as many of you know, Larry and I, in addition to working long hours running a business, also have been struggling for some time with his parents medical needs, coordinating with family members as to doctor appointments and hospitalizations, which somehow seem to accellerate the moment one of us attempts to leave town, haha.  Then, there's the myriad of medical bills and paperwork, insurance companies, etc., that need to be navigated....arghhh, drives me crazy every time I have to deal with one little prescripton change, haha.

To cap it off, another regular and valuable attendee has had a death in the family and also will not be able to attend, and as we were investigating alternative locations, we just realized that the scheduling difficulties and demands on our time, coupled with the fact that BCM was having a big rally not that much farther away the following weekend, well, we thought perhaps our potential attendees could plan on attending the Chattanooga Rally instead.  

Of course, it's disappointing to think that we won't be able to hang out with some wonderful bus-friends we've made, and we always enjoyed the rally so much, which is why we waited so long to make the decision.  We always loved our little gathering, everyone was so much fun and mean so much to us!  Because of the demands on my time, I seldom can even get on a bus forum anymore it seems, so this is especially hard to think we won't be having the rally, but the reality is, it's just not going to happen this year.  Sadly yours, Christy Hicks

Sorry to hear about your struggles.  I know how all consuming taking care of elderly parents can be.  We have missed you and your sense of humor around here.

Don't forget to take care of yourselves.  It is more important than most anything else and we sometimes forget that when life gets in the way.

Thanks for your concern, Len....we and Larry's sis and her husband eat dinner together regularly and try to keep a good sense of humour about things!  We bust our tails to keep his dad alive, then he pulls something and we both wanna KILL him! haha 

And Bob, well, you ought to know by now that no bus nor bus-nut is immune from mishaps, gremlins, bobbles, and what we so affectionatley term as "adventures"!   It's true that we don't get to take "Pray-vo" out as much as we'd like, but unfortunately, that doesn't seem to prevent crazy stuff from happening to my anyway!  Let's just say that we do live life to the fullest these days!   

I do miss chatting with everyone here though.  The razzing and joking and story-telling is one thing I sure enjoy!  Bus people are just great and telling you guys about the things we experience is just like telling family....and I know you all were actually laughing WITH me, not AT me....right???   RIGHT?  haha, Christy Hicks

Sounds like you have more than enough on your plate. Don't worry about it, priorities of family come first. At least Becky and I don't have to worry about missing it, cause it's not happening.
