Awnings

I live in Chicago and Zip-Dee is right up the road. A patio awning is about 1500 bucks. There is a manufacturer that does local tv comercials for their products and they are SUN SETER awnings. Anyone ever seen these comercials? They have what looks just like a zip dee for 400 advertized. Additionally it has a feature zip dee does not it has a crank to put it in and out verses the silly stupid metal rods zip dee has.

You know where Im going with this.

Comments? Anybody try one of these?

If like to sell my zip-dee to the first sucker I could find. Know where I'm going?

I'd like to be that sucker if the price is right. Linda and I will be work camping in Kentucky through the 1st of the year. I had hoped to be back for Bussin but it looks like we'll be away until the middle of Jan.
My present Zip-Dee is over 20 yrs old. I bought it used 12 yrs ago. I've had to make some repairs and find the good people of Zip-Dee to be most helpful. Yes they got it and they charge for it. On the other hand, how would you feel going down the road with a patio awning designed to hang over your 8' sliding door?

allen trust me I would not sell the awning to my worst enemy. with that said I wouldn't recommend zip-dee to anyone!

Joe: we have one of those awnings and are very happy with it. have had it for several years now. good product, we paid 800.00 for ours back then. Tony

Is the crank removable or do you strap it down?

The legs or arms can be stood upright when extended if that is what you mean. It pulls out with a strap manually
