Today I stopped by AME (AM Equipment), in Jefferson, OR to see if they would build me a pair of electric windshield wiper kits for the PD3751 Silverside that I am restoring.  I have a set of their products on my Eagle and have been quite happy with them.  But I did not have a lot of confidence that they could provide a product for something so old and obsolete.  Boy, was I wrong!  The whole shop crew was super friendly, and a nice gentleman named Butch, the operations manager, gave me a factory tour, and as we were doing so he was picking all the parts off the shelves for what he felt we needed.  I came in with my old air motors and brackets and windshield measurements.  One of my motors was dated 1971 the other was from the '40's.  Did not faze Butch, in less than an hour he had all the items ready to go, including the washer bottle and kit. Two speed, with intermittant. Very, very professional, and all the parts only came to $542.00, including spare blades.  It does my heart good to see a successful American company, with American workers, building good products.  They specialize in marine, rail and bus wiper systems.  Highly recommend them.

Just for reference; two weeks ago I bought a new wiper motor assembly for my 2000 Kenworth T2000.  It wasn't just a motor, it included a 1/4", powder coated mounting plate, a small arm, a link to a pivot, the pivot and some fasteners.  I only needed a motor, but this is the way they sell it.  One motor, wish I knew where it was made, but doubt it was in USA.  Cost $549 plus tax.  Makes your deal sound very fair to me.
Well no longer a bus nut, but over the years I learned a lot here and still come back to see what I can apply to the conversion of my KW T2000 for hauling my Teton fifth wheeler.

Thanks for the information. We all need real time positive vendors for our "old time" rigs. Proper materials as well as well engineered designed products seem extremely rare for my 4106.

I have them on my eagle. Only had a problem one time. I thought the switch was going out and wanted to order a new one. The guy told me I didn't need one to unplug it, clean the contacts and sure enough it worked. I thought that was pretty good considering they could have hit me for a new switch and I wouldn't have known the diff.!! Honest people make a return customer every time!!
