Someone needs a reality check.  I don't understand all the hoopla concerning this one.  It is "32 years old" and it is basically a shell, what makes it worth so much more than what he is asking?

It would be different if it was a dressed up and ready to go bus, but this dawg, aint gonna hunt.

Over and over, "If you bought your bus seeking an INVESTMENT then you are going to be a loser from the get go.  Regardless of this economy or any other one."

I'll take the Prevo for under $10,000.00.

Thanks Bob that is it good buy if somebody is willing to put some time and money into it.
I can answer any questions you need to know about that bus I spent 5 hrs checking it for a friend that is why I know what it can be bought for.
He had it bought but the owner passed away and they didn't file the right paper work with the state of AZ so the bus is listed as non op with the DMV here plus the salesman tried to hit him with a finders fee and pay no attention to the ad a Rv salesman wrote that it needs tires bad on 1 good tire the Toyo on the passengers side tag  lol need some TLC bad.
If any are interested I can put you in touch with the young man in Neb trying to sell it for his grandmother keep in mind you need tires they won't last 20 miles you can stick a nickel in the sidewall cracks and it does not have a AquaHot

good luck

we bought our '84 MCI 9 as a charter coach that passed inspections and had some new rubber for $7000. Scrap value alone is $5000. So that value seems to be about right for an older gutted unit. Market value of our coach was somewhere around $13,000 at the time.

It's not just the missing aqua hot, didn't the XL come out the year after that prevost was built? Does it look like a 102 to you?

It has been presented to me in a fashion that I can somewhat understand by my bride, "that I am out of the bus buying business."

Happy wife ... Happy Life .... Oh, how I want to be a happy, happy man.

Hi pickpaul,
According to an article in Bus Trader Magazine a few years ago, Prevost started building 102" wide coaches (XL) in 1984. They also built 96" wide coaches that year, so you have to look closely if you are looking at an '84 Prevost.
Good luck, Sam MC8

I'll check on it today for sure but the Prevost Marathon Xl 1983 was the first 102 wide bus Prevost built

Clifford,

It looks like it could be a good deal, but I personally would not recommend a non-turbo 8v71 to anyone who plans to travel near a hill.
You don't have to believe everything you think.

luvrbus

It does have a Webasto from Dick Wright not a Aqua Hot,has a 10kw Onan in a quite box,2 roof top of different brands and fresh 8v71 from WW William out of frame you can tell he had done a lot of work on the under carriage of that bus.
Every window in that bus leaks and has a few rust problems nothing major the sides wave like old glory bad skinning job very bad and the front cap needs to be removed and re installed 5 lbs of silicone there lol.
I feel sorry for the grandson and grandmother such nice people she has been living in the bus for over a year at a county park here by herself and the grandson just wants to sell the bus and move his grandmother back to Neb.
Now the salesman that is another story all by it's self if he wasn't involved I would probably buy the bus to help the young out and I have no use for the bus, my thinking with the sales guy gone that bus can be had for 5 to 7 thousand the young man doesn't have 5 or 6 thousand for tires to take it to Neb but with tires you could drive any where and it has a full tank of fuel

good luck
