This ole 4104 sits in Baxter Springs on Rt 66.  Still seated.  Owner has some really nice classic trucks inside of the building in the background.

Enjoy

Nice Bus!
Interesting to see it still has seats. Wish I was closer to it and could check it out!

It's a ex Greyhound 04 and it's not in bad shape for it's age.
Thanks for the memories.

Yes, with the "low" drivers side rear view mirror it's a "Hound".  Mine had the "high" mirror; wasn't a Hound.

At times I wish I still had my 4104.  A great bus!

That is a sweet looking fully intact '04.
I was told high mirror was a hound.

I was told high mirror was a hound.

No, mine had a high mirror and it was delivered to Alamedia Bus Lines in New Bedford, MA, not a Greyhound line, but a private carrier.

I do believe that high mirrors were standard on al 1953 4104s

Hmm my '53 has both the high and the low mount....I was told it was a hound, but that defines nothing in this case

RJ

The high mount mirror was standard, the low mount was a "no cost" option, at least according to one of the 4104 pieces of literature I have.

Same on the 4106s, at least initially.

Most operators opted for the low mount - especially after drivers complained about the huge blind spot the high mounts create.

Great find of that old 'Hound '04.  Maybe you could chat w/ the owner and get the VIN off of it so we might have an idea where it earned it's keep for the 'dog?

That is proud.
It looks like the AC bay may still be occupied?
No "grille" center bar, huh?

FWIW, I own a "grey rubber glass gasket" '53; DS mirror is high, PS is the "hitchhiker thumb special" low mount.
