I have lurked and used this page for a couple of years now and have gleaned a lot of information and had some great chuckles. I thought it was about time I paid some dues and took out a subscription to the magazine. What a great magazine, I only checked out the on line version until the hard copy arrives, but I can see there will be some good reading and interesting stories. I encourage those who haven`t checked it out to see what you are missing. It will be well worth the small investment.
I am finally going to retire, before summer I promised my wife, we have a few old car commitments then on the road with the bus pulling the Corvair behind us. (Please no Nader stories) Things are great, the kids will look after the farm and we can enjoy the southern sunshine.

Now thats what I'm talkin about. As it should be. Please don't limit yourself to "Southern Sunshine". Its a bright day down the road where ever you are.

that is great you are retiring this year. I'm also  retiring at the end of the year after 41 years as a locomotive engineer. We will be heading south after Christmas.

Are you going to the Rally in Chase this weekend, we are heading out tomorrow.

I won`t limit to the south, we have an old car reunion in Ontario next summer then off to Newfoundland and to Florida when the cold winds blow, then home via the south coast for April planting. 8 to 10 months should do it.

We won`t be in Chase, we`re on a vintage car tour for a week ending in Salmon Arm on the following weekend, I know I`ll miss a good time...

I pull a '63 Corvair Monza Convertible behind my S&S.  Great toad. Relatively light, always a conversation starter, and age appropriate for many of the buses here. :)

Congrats on your retirement Fraser.  I retired in January and already wonder how I ever had time to work.....  Sorry we'll miss you at the rally in Chase, but I'm sure we'll cross paths.  No mistaking that Corvair behind your bus.

Fraser -

What model Corvair do you use as a toad?

It's a 63 Monza convertible, fun little car and you get to attend a few car shows along the route. The Greenbrier must be a good one to have along, not many of them left. We also can tow my wife's HHR

Fraser,

Don't believe all that you hear about retirement.  Sure you can get the hang of it in short order.  BUT, I have been retired since 1990 and in these 21 years I have not had a single day off.  Not one.  Grueling.  While I don't have top rise before the sun is up to milk the cows, I still have to get up sometime...and that is my point.  Carefull what you wish for.

Happy to hear of your good fortune.  Welcome.

Hey Fraser,

Oooh, envy!!! Got anther 10-12 years yet ahead of me. Welcome, this website/magazine is a great resource! I've subscribed since purchasing our beloved '60 GM 4104 over ten years ago.

Corvair?! Bless your heart! Call me quirky, but I love the 'Vair! Bought a '65 Crown car (familiar?) many years ago. Been in moth balls for past 6-7 years but am now dusting 'er off and wrenching on again.

Hit the road, Baby! I'll be ridin' shotgun, albeit vicariously! The very best to you and Wifey once you head out in to the Wild Blue Yonder! Yeee-Haaaaa!!!!

Enjoy,
