Well the new fuel pump did not fix the problem. I am going to change the fuel filter. I just changed it around 100 hours of running ago. The Genny is a 21kw Yanmar diesel. It will fire with starting fluid so it has to be a fuel problem. Any one familiar with Yanmar.

Cory... So the fuel pump is pumping fuel or not??? If it is pumping and won't run then you probably have a clogged filter as you mentioned.. But if the new pump is not pumping then you might have a faulty sensor or wire that is activating the "Shut Down" feature. I know with my Kabota Diesel, if either of the sensors get activated then it shuts power to the pump and it will not work. One way to check it is take a volt meter and check voltage at the fuel pump with the switch on... You should have 12v or a little higher. If no voltage then you may have a faulty wire or shut down sensor that cuts the power to the pump. Also, you may have air in the fuel line if you didn't bleed the line after swaping the fuel pumps. You can open up the bleed valve to let the air escape but that is only if the new pump is working..
Hope that helps..

Check you power to the shutdown solenoid and the solenoid it is on the back of injection pump on most Yanmar's it opens on a DC voltage and then stays open running on AC power, then there is a inline filter at the pump where the supply enters unless it has been removed

good luck

Well made it to stop number 3 Elkhart Indiana to pick up my new custom furniture with out problems. I couldnt find a truck wash so I had to wash it by hand here at the campground. Diesel fuel is not easy to get off. But all is good.
