MCI Challenger

OK starting to get some info on this bus, but owner still not telling me what the factory customs are. I know the bus is way over priced and I'm not going to buy any thing on eBay that I haven't seen in person and had a mechanic check it out. I don't think that it will sell for that price. When it has been some time they might take 1/2 of what they are asking for it. I got the number Well this tell me about the history of the bus. The number is 220768017546 is there a place on line I can look it up or can one of you busnut tell me any thing about this bus? I really like the Challengers.

What is that number supposed to be? The serial number/vin for a 66 MCI will only be 4 numbers.

That is too many numbers for a 1966 MCI 5 bus for me maybe RJ can tell you when it was numbered like that ,it has the Hound destination sign

I think that it is the Vin is there another number that would help.Where would they find it.

Open the doors on the back and look up on the wall between the fan cages. Should be a plate there with the 4 digit VIN and a 4 digit unit number.

Originally there was another plate that was mounted on the front corner of the luggage rack just behind the drivers head, but these got moved when the racks were torn out. They are supposed to be remounted somewhere else but not everyone did that. It can make for problems at the DMV, i only had the one in the back but i was able to show them a picture of where the front one had been. They accepted that,.... about 4 years later i found the other one underneath the covering on the sidewall of my stairs.

Mine was in the back between the fans also and in the left cabinet above the drivers seat where my breaker box is. It was inside the door screwed to the backside of it. In our 5C
