Rumor has it that his mom is in the hospital and Mike is getting conflicting information about her condition.....

He responded to the text and it seems that recovery is possible.  Prayer does work.

I just received this email from Mike.    Jack

Jack,

Yes, it is Mom.  Pretty bad.  The doctor describes her condition as "grave" and initially said that most patients that enter the hospital in her condition and age, don't survive to go home.

Sepsis was the diagnosis.   Major urinary tract infection that was causing her urine to be entirely blood like.  So much blood in it that it looked like straight blood.  That prompted me to call the ambulance.

That also explains why all of her bed sores that I had almost all healed up suddenly got bad again.

But there is hopeful news now. They have had her on heavy doses of a wide range of antibiotics.  Mid morning Sunday morning, pretty much at the time that Jerry Millwood's church was praying for her during their morning service, the bloody urine suddenly changed to normal golden transparent.  And it has stayed that was since.

Also they did a CT scan of the abdomen and found no stones, tumors or structural damages.  An x-ray of her lungs came up good.

Even with all that good news, the doctor is still very grim about her condition and says she still has a long hard path ahead to recovery enough to go home.  He estimates that if all goes well, probably another 10 days.

One good thing, now with doctors involved, we will be able to get hospice in-home care help.  That is something that has been needed for a while, but without a doctor prescribing it, Medicare would not have paid.

As you noted, not much email checking.  I am staying at the hospital in her room.  Last night they moved her to this very nice private room.  It has a recliner guest chair that is comfortable enough for me to catch some intermittent sleep.  Last night I managed to get 6 hours sleep which brought me up to 12 hours sleep out the last 96.  Needless to say, I am still tired, but a little more clear minded.

I will keep you updated as possible.

Thanks,
Mike
