How do you buy a turbo?

Don F. was kind enough to help me with some turbo questions and has recommended a TV7511 with a 1.23 hot housing the part # 8927028 or a TV7512 part #23501978. I've looked on web sites, googled, and all of that but I can't seem to find those. Where do you go to buy a turbo, and how do you know if a rebuilt is a good'un?

Here is how I see it. If ours got sloppy and in need of replacement I would replace it with exactly the same one that came out. I would buy a bran new one. It will most probably be the only time you will ever need one again and would not buy used, the savings would not be significant enough for a 1 time purchase like this and the projected lifespan of the part.

I would shop it and buy where I got the best price could be a variety of potential suppliers.

Call Tom at Turbo Resources in Lake Havasu AZ 928- 505-4610 he will have one or build one for you that were Don and I get ours he worked for DD for years knows his DD turbos

Joe he is changing over from a huge turbo on a industrial engine to a highway engine and he can change the turbo no need for him to stay with that turbo you can change the torque range on a DD with different turbos just depends if he wants low end, middle or top end torque Don is telling him to install a model that will give power with no smoke on take off and do good on top end torque with plenty of boost 20 plus lbs.

Don also told me how to free them up, and since only three out of the eight are sticky, I'm going to try that. I will be sticking with the N80's in any case, going to the N65's I also have would reduce the power way too much.

Just a thought here but the reason I decided to change out the injectors on the 92 I bought that blew up last winter ( Hey no laughing out there!) was when we put them on the tester I could see a significant defference in the spray patterns. I suggest finding someone in your area that has a tester and make sure that the patterns are tight and crisp. Those injectors might be more than just sticky.

Just a thought and I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing you success with this power upgrade,

that do turbos and injectors,
just about all of them someplace in the Toronto/Hamilton/Guelph triangle.
