Another dish story

Didnt want to hijack John Eds thread, but, I am so happy we finally got our satelite all up and going and working right. For a while we had it working on just one input on our dvr, cause didnt know how to wire it to work right.
We have the A5 low profile dish. We finally got everything needed and got it figured out as to how to install it. It took the 12 volt receiver, a destacker, and a dc block splitter, and walah! We have four tvs, and a dvr working off of it. We were worried about how it was going to work in the rain and snow. Well, it has been tried and tested now. As far as rain goes, it works about the same as a regular dome. It worked in quite a bit of snow, but after a night of 10 inches falling, had to get a broom out and sweep it off. Nick, thanks for your advice in it all.

Hi Phil,

A destacker switch removes the dc electric [42v] from the RJ6 coax cable and leaves the signal for non 12v dc sat boxes. [home types]

Newer automatic KVH dome sat dishes power the roof antenna via the RJ6 coax cable. [No need for 12v power to the roof]
