Clutch for MCI Spicer

So I am researching the 7 speed spicer trannys and find the manual on line, and reading it it says it needs a clutch brake.  So that reminds me of driver training when they had a clutch brake, and makes me try to remember the good and valid reasons that I DON"T have a clutch brake on my 4 speed Spicer,, and I can't remember what those reasons are.  so that makes me remember that I need to find out what clutch I am supposed to have in there for bus use, and how do I figure that out?  I have no idea, but i know who to ask!

So - can I get a clutch with a clutch brake, and is there a proper clutch for my little  MC-5C so that I have the proper weight of clutch and I don't kill my left leg as much?

I don't know about the clutch brake, but the 5a and others had an air assist clutch.  Yours may be disconnected or just gone bad.

The air assist is there and it's rebuilt and working as good as it gets.  That's why I am investigating the actual clutch.  I heard that some places put in a truck clutch cover that had heavy springs instead of a bus clutch cover, and wanted to get ideas on that.

The clutch brake is not part of the clutch. It is generally a separate disk attached to the transmission input shaft with a brake pad that is attached to the clutch linkage. The clutch brake is applied in the last inch or so of clutch pedal travel. It stops the clutch rotation so you can select first or reverse at a stop. Some drivers use it to hurry shifts when double clutching.
