Looking to purchase a Prevost bus conversion (early to mid 1990's).  Have had buses for the past 20 years (1972 GMC 4108 & 1984 Eagle 10).  We are headed to Florida for 6 weeks from Maine so we could stop and look at some on the way down or while we are in Florida.  Please e-mail me with contact numbers at:  dktracytracy@aol.com if you know of any for sale.  Thanks, Eagle 10

There have always been scads of Pre.s down there.  I think people have given up and quit advertising.  All of the great deals I have noted came from dealers that just seemed to want the bus off the property, at least that is what the price inferred in some cases.  Let yopur fingers do the walking and call or visit the dealers on your route.  If you don't get charmed on the way down then take another interstate back.

I, for one, would like to get updates on what you look at and the $ stuff.  Leave your contact info with the dealers and they might scare up a good deal for you to look at while you are own there.  Keep in touch.

I envy you the adventure.

Hi, we were in Huntsville Al. today and looked at a 95 Country Coach conversion. It had 50000 miles on i. The husband died. The lady wanted to get rid of it and the price looked good to me, but I haven't priced them just watched what people wanted on E bay. Don't know about posting price on here but send me a email or call me and I'll tell you about it. I have the guys card and the bus looked good except it needed a couple tires. Jim 256-757-5669

Clifford,

I agree with you about the "dealers" being a bigger risk.  They are more adroit at hiding problems than your average owner and their integrity has been long established.  That being said.....have an expert eval the bus, engine/trans and house systems regardless for the only peace of mind that can truly be had.  You are very lucky if you can purchase from a private that is well "vouched" for and knows buses.  You meet that description and I am sure you know, personally, all the rest that do.  Thanks Clifford and I stand corrected without further clarification.

I will help I know of a few. Mid 90's.........94 is the first year for the 60 series is this important to you?

Here are some thoughts

CC good paint jobs very screwed up overcomplicated electrical systems.

Marathon fit and finish very good, used coach support pittiful.

Royal has many nice wood interiors

Angola all around solid conversions Vogue, Parlament the same but not as many out there as angola.

Milleniumover the top

Liberty many are glitzy but very good fit and finish, coustomer support second to none.

Featherlite/Vantari  lots out there usually set up great for boondocking
Signing off from Cook County Ill. where the dead vote, frequently.

American Carriage Coach was the tops in Prevost conversions Mark did a 1st class job but gone now and would be no kind of support from him only did 2 a year

Eagle10 -

I swung by Horizon Coach in Arcadia on Monday after the rally.  They have at least one mid-90's Prevost on the lot you might inquire about, here's a link:

http://www.horizoncoach.com/index.cfm?go=main.inventoryView&inventory=1103

I didn't look at it, spent some time talking to Rod Daniels about the Custom Coach MCI that was out back.

I don't think Horizon sells junk - I think they're pretty picky about what goes on their lot.  Jack Conrad might chime in here, he delivers inventory for them every now and then.  Might send Jack a PM and ask.

Good luck on your search, and remember:  It's easy to buy a coach, but it's much, much harder to sell a mistake!

Joe,

I have looked, in vain I might add, for your kind of summary.  Clifford didn't call you out so I guess you are at least close.

I had heard a little negative info on Marathon and support was one of the problems.  I guess you should make sure that you get the diagrams and plans for the bus if you get one.

I have had Feather lite recommended many times and for many reasons.  Good to know they are suited to boondocking.

Thanks again.
