I'm still on the north side of Atlanta at noon so I probably won't make Arcadia until mid to late morning Wednesday.  It would be a long trip by myself to make it tonight.  I was planning to make it tonight, but fate conspired against me.

On the way to visit MattC and Mike in Chattanooga I was on I24 and just after the Georgia state line it got icy.  I started heading down a grade and traffic ground to a halt at the bottom of the hill so I had to brake hard.  A car in the left lane apparently hit ice and lost control.  I thought for sure the car hit me.  It stopped and realized the car had not hit me.  I had steered just far enough to avoid being hit.

When I stopped to see MattC and Mike we saw a coolant leak on my engine.  MattC was nice enough to take me to Freightliner to get a clamp.  Luckily the extra clamp fixed the leak and it didn't leak overnight.  I would have been stuck overnight had the hose needed replacement.  I had planned to leave at 3:30 pm and didn't get out of there until almost 6 pm.

It was great getting to meet Brian.  I wish his visit wouldn't have been accompanied by a problem.  But when it comes down to it, much better in our parking lot with fellow bus nuts available and if necessary a full diesel shop than on the side of the road far from anybody.

Anyone else headed south on I-75 or I-24 (or north on the return) through Chattanooga, TN is more than welcome to stop for a coffee break or an overnight stop.  863-303-4008.

Maybe you two could PM your phone numbers to each other?  You could be one mile apart on the road and not know it.

ruthi

I will try the pm, I put it at the top also. Use to have his number, cant find it. Thanks

I am parked right behind Ken and Ruth right now at the TA in Wildwood, FL.  I'm not sure if we will really caravan together or not.  We didn't set a time to leave and I tend to leave as soon as I wake up and get dressed.  I still haven't dewinterized as I haven't found a source of potable water yet.

Ruth said they need to stop at Walmart yet.  I already did all my shopping at Walmart.

It is at the intersection of 70 and 31 in Arcadia.  (A few blocks after the left turn to get to Turner Center from 70.)  Which reminds me, to get to Turner Center from 70, pass through most of Arcadia and then turn left on Turner Ave. then right on Roan (High School on the corner).  Turner Center is one block on left.

Brian,
You can do that when you arrive. There will be a hose fitting right next to where we are going to park you.  Jack
