Randall,

Probably one of the greatest testimonials of anything is "Would you buy another one?" For me, the answer is "Yes!"

My first conversion is the '73 MCI  that is pictured. Although I am selling that one because  a bum knee makes it difficult for me to drive it anymore, I already bought a BlueBird conversion that I can drive....... If I can ever get all the problems fixed!  LOL

Our MCI has been one of the more enjoyable possessions  we have ever owned & I hate to have to sell it.

Jump in! The water's fine!

Randall, Wellcome to the monkey house !!! It sounds like you will be a qualified and compant bus owner soon....being handy isn't a prerequisite but most of us are reasonably competent and it  helps with the basic maintenance and safety issues and the $$$.....We are not all mechanics rebuilding our engines although some can, .....this form is like the complaint department and the  fixing consensus's of our opinions....hence you hear a lot of horror stories that run the gamut and not a lot of stories of the wonderful but uneventful trips we all get out of our buses....for me, bussin is a blast...I like most of the challenges the bussin life presents and like most of us here I sense you will love it just as much as we all  do.........!!!!!!    be warned this sport can cost you your disire to live in a "fixed " home!!!!!!!!.......the very best of luck and skill finding your new toy.......enjoy!!!.....Steve
Sometimes the more I think about something the less I think about something.    As soon as I save a little money my bus finds out.                                      Why grab a plane when you can take the bus ?                         If I'm wrong 10% of the time how can the "Queen" be right 100%

I would have to agree with what's been said! Some very good replies already.

You sound like you can handle it just fine. Take it slow and easy, take it out and exercise it, fix the safety stuff first and have fun! At times you might feel overwhelmed, we all have felt that way believe me.

It will keep you busy for quite a while, but what a rewarding hobby. Besides you get to meet the nicest folk! One thing you must do is go to some bus rallies and chat with other owners.

Just be safe while working on your coach.

Steve...lost the desire to live in a "fixed" home long ago. Now with California's political and economic situations, I desire it even less.  I appreciate all of the replies and the welcomes and am looking forward to purchasing a bus to convert or to upgrade one that already has been converted. The latter seems to be the way to go right now.  I hope to meet some of you down the road somewhere. You all sound like very likeable people and hope I will ultimately fit into this community of busnuts.
Randall... a noobie from Fresno, CA. Don't yet have a bus, but looking and leaning to an RTS. I like the lines and research indicates to me that while they have less storage, they seem to be simpler.
