Clifton,

Do you belong to the Wanderlodge forum? If so, you can ask over there. Some of those guys know everything about Birds. If not, I will be glad to post the question for you. You may remember I bought a PT40. FYI, I haven't seen or heard of any Birds that were Stainless. It's one of the things I don't like about them. My MC7 looks way better than any birds I have seen.

Tom,I am not a member on that board but a little info for you Steve lives in Houston and he rides to work on the BB Express model and has a love affair with the Express.
My understanding from him is the Wanderlodge LXI 45 ft and Express are about the same bus one difference is the LXI most have Cummins engines and the Express has a C-13 and they do have smooth painted S/S siding just like a Newell.
He is giving up a nice bus to buy the Express and I am trying to help find one for him.
I have the frame for one that the David removed the the C-13 from and installed it in a Eagle he bought from the BB factory sale.
Let me know if you find one thanks

Clifford, I hope I'm not violating forum rules by posting this link, but here's what I found on the Blue Bird Express.  Your post got me curious, since I'm only sightly familiar with Blue Bird's transit models, not familiar with the Express.  I wonder if Complete Coach Works would be worth a call, to get a list of current operators, what might be coming on the market, or even if they have anything in stock.

My understanding is Coach Works went under last year.  I thought there was some sort of deal to finish up one last order of Express buses for a transit agency.  I personally wouldn't buy a Bluebird Express bus as they appear to be an orphan now.  My Dina is sort of an orphan too, but at least MCI still provides some level of support.  I doubt I would buy another Dina.

My understanding from making phones call yesterday is Blue Bird is supplying all parts for the Express and will resume production with a joint venture with Navistar  and Harry Mitchell of Vogue and Parliment fame is going to resume the building of the Wonderlodge some place in FL or Ok as he bought the rights to Wanderlodge fwiw the City of Houston Metro owns a 150 of the Express model and from all accounts they love it
