Now that you got me started I have a couple questions. First, since I don't have an aftercooled 8V71 turbo block how would I cool the air going into the motor? Second, and I think you guys already touched on this subject, how do i get oil from the motor to the turbo and back into the motor? Third, do any of you know where I might find that particular turbo or would a similar numbered one work? I found a TV 7301 but have had no luck finding much info out about that turbo. I found the y pipe and I'm really considering doing this. Also will it have to be timed differently and the rack rerun?

heck maybe I'll blow my 8v7 up and then I'll have to pony up for an 8V92...

Keep in touch

Rick, those old engines ran for years with a turbo without a after cooler or air to air cooler they just don't make as much HP

Rick,
A fellow busnut who shall remain nameless because I haven't cleared this with him, discovered that his MC-9 8V71 has C60 injectors when he brought it down here to have the rack run last week. He pulls an Excursion with that bus! I'm guessing that's one of those 258 horse originals. It also never runs over 140 degrees. (GUYS: are C60 injectors the stock injector for Greyhound?)  Amazing. Now that he had the rack run the bus has more power but he is going to N70 injectors. That should make a big difference and now he'll know what it means to drive with by the temperature gauge. I've got C65s in my MC-5 and its kind of a pooch.
