IDEAS FOR TRIPS TO THE BEACH

Does anybody have an idea for a shower outside the bus, like for when you go to the beach and want kids to shower the sand and salt off before entering the coach? This kind of shower might use one of those $70 camper's shower stall from Wal-Mart. What I am more interested in is the pluming side of things. Maybe somebody already has something?

I got one of those coiled garden hoses and housed it in a 4 inch pvc pipe.  Tapped in to a cold water line.  Stood by the door to direct the little criminals around to the "wash the sand off your feet" area.

I just use a T fitting with a facet and run a hose to the front.  Nozzle hangs on the mirror waiting to be used.

we have one coiled and hung in the tank bay,teed in the cold water with a 1/4 turn valve. The handheld has a shutoff also ( so the little buggers wont run us out of water)...............

Camping World makes a permanently mounted outside shower in a small enclosed compartment with a plastic door.  It is built cheaply, yet it has been on my bus for 16 years and works well.  It is also a nice way to get hot and cold running water on the outside-just take the shower head off and you have a camp faucet.  You could build it into one of the cargo compartments so not to have an additional exterior door.  Good Luck, TomC

I have one like Tom mounted in the middle bay.

We put a nice rubber mat down and the Kids rinse off and then right onto the grass carpet and inside.

It is hooked up to both Hot and Cold water.  It has a little button on the head to stop flow, so you don't have to waste any water if dry camping.

We keep a 2 gal bucket of water on a woven mat so you can put one foot in the bucket and then step on the mat and dip the other. Then we have a shower stall for salty/sandy bathing suits. The water for the shower comes from a 20 gal gray colored plastic barrel sitting in the sun. In it is a submersible pump. In the shower is a switch for the pump. The pump is connected to a garden sprayer with a short piece of garden hose. There is a valve inline to control the pressure. Walk in flip the switch and a nice warm shower. If the kids are taking too long I just unplug the pump.

It's a quandry up here, we've got beaches where you can walk for miles without seeing another person, tall pines, all the good stuff and 48 degree water, it does wake you up tho, kinda tends to stop the heart and forget any reproductive future but it does refresh you, we bought one of those little box showers that mount in a bay and have the faucets for hot and cold but haven't hooked it up yet.
