There are 2,  12volt batteries wired for 24volt for starting my bus. They also power the 12v. head lights and fog lights. The Vanner Volt Master 60-50 is bad: it shows 24 volts at both the 12v. and the 24v. terminals. So one bat. gets way overdrawn and will have to be replaced. Vanner tells me it is not repairable. They tell me to get the 66-60.  Their distributor in Calgary is quoting me $596.16 for it. What do you guys think? Any suggestions for a different product?

Verify that the GROUND wire on the vanner is a GOOD connection to the Vanner Ground and Bus GROUND.

I believe that can happen when you LOOSE VANNER GROUNDS - It usually happens only when there is a HUGE  24 volt sytem AMP draw - (like a starter running)

If you ain't part of the solution, then you're part of the problem.

This place, which is a bus parts business, has some rebuilt 60-50's for sale for $150.  He gives a 30 day warranty.  I bought one but have not installed it yet, so I can't praise or condemn it.  I think he will take reasonable offers too.

Thanks very much guys. The ground is good. I just talked to Direct Machinery Outlet who are shipping me a Vanner 60-50 that is a take off from another bus. Tested to be good and guaranteed for $150. Heck of a lot better than $600... Thanks again. I knew if I asked, something good would come.

That's not a bad price if it's guaranteed to work.

I just bought a used one off this board. Cost me $100 including shipping. Unfortunately it's DOA. The seller
saijd he had checked the output, but I'm pretty sure he didn't really understand what he was
looking for, and so he saw standard center tap voltage on the 12v stud, instead of equalizer output voltage. Common mistake.

Still waiting to hear from the seller, but I believe he's out of the country for some time (like on the other end of the world).

Check Nimco Bus Parts in New Jersey. They recycle buses and have all kinds of parts.

I bought my 100 amp on the E-place for around five hundred $160 sounds good to me also.
