Wanting to replace my stock wheel as it has 3 spokes one of which lines up blocking the center of the dash.  So looking at 2 spoke VIP wheels.  1  There is a seller on ebay selling them for $145 new, is this a decent price?

2.  What size?  I did a search of this board, busnuts board, and the bluebird forum, looking at either going to a 18 inch wheel or staying stock at 20 inch.  On the BB forum it was mentioned that Bluebirds needed to stay between the ditches in case of a failure of the PS pump, or perhaps a front tire failure, and the extra leverage was mandated.  I looked on my 6 V 92 and have a double pulley on the engine for the PS pump, but only a single pulley on the pump, so I am one belt away from a failure.  Others that have gone to the 18 inch have liked it because of the added control they seem to get, i.e. less play  in the steering.  So my question to you folks, ignoring the PS issue, what was the reason you selected the wheel that you did?

Thanks

PS:  Mark of insanity is how much time is spent decided on 1 inch different in steering wheel radius, i.e. busnut!

VIP sells direct.  Call them and check out the prices.  When I bought mine, they were cheaper than anyone on Ebay.
You don't have to believe everything you think.

When you talk with VIP wheels plead poverty and ask for a second. You'd be surprised how quickly they'll drop the price.

I did and on the advice of some of the Board members...Chuck MC8 if I recall correctly.

I traded the smaller aftermarket MCI wheel that the PO put on my 5A for an original wheel and am very happy with it. Did not notice any difference in play even though i was a little concerned about that. Wheel came from another 5A the same year as mine.  ;D  I just like the look and feel of the old wheels better. :)
Used to own a 1968 MCI 5A and a 1977 5C.
