Since we sold our bus I hope I am not violating the rules by providing the link to our bus pictures. I enjoy looking at other buses and I know others do too, so here is the link to Photobucket:

Beautiful conversion!! I am curious, your photo in the bedroom says the bed flips up? Do you have photos of it up?
The Little GTO is a 102" wide and 40' long 1983 GMC RTS II and my name is Teresa in case I forgot to sign my post

I asked my wife when she got home and no she doesn't have a picture with the bed lifted up. The bed platform is made of 3/4" plywood and hinges 4' from the foot of the bed at about a 30 degree angle. That allows good access the the under bed storage. There are also two doors at the foot of the bed for access to things close to them. We often blocked one of those doors open part way so our dog could use the open corner as a den. She is afraid of thunder so it was a good hideaway for her. HTH

Sam, Those are pics of the 4106... right? Lucky buyer even if you didn't throw in the manuals!! :D :D Very nice indeed. So pics of the 8 are next in line. Nobody complains about to much bus porn!

Sam,

Thank you.  Best 4106 I have seen.  Your cabinet work is really professional and innovative.

Sam,

Very Very nice indeed. Simple, stock & sweet. Great job inside and I guess this is the first or second happiest day in bus ownership....

Hi Gary '79 5C,
Actually the day our bus left our house was a very sad day for me. We had owned and enjoyed it for over 20 years and we only sold it because of my health. Even though I know we made the right choice to sell, it was still hard to let go. My wife does most of the driving now that we have our MC8, with an automatic transmission, which will allow us to continue to bus, at least for awhile.
JohnEd,
The new owner said the same thing about our bus and cabinets. Thanks for the compliment.
Chopper Scott,
Selling our bus was a very emotional time for me. Please forgive my comments on the thread about the bus manuals. The new owner did get the manuals.
Good luck, Sam MC8

Sam,

Sorry about the decline in health, Parting with a loved one, even a bus is tough. I wonder about my day, which I will get off the bus one last time.

I am glad you did sell, and still have an MC8. My situation is opposite, my wife is handicapped, although she can drive, she has not tried the bus. I try to keep myself as fit as possible for this reason.

Have a great day,

Hey all,

I am the new owner of Sam's 4106 and I just gotta say what a sweet ride it is. When I stepped into the coach in Sam's garage and saw the exceptional craftsmanship it did not take long to make my decision to buy it and end my 6-month search for a quality coach.

The 1200 mile trip back to North Carolina from Minnesota only reaffirmed the quality of everything in the coach and kept me from having to experience any buyer's remorse. I have to admit that struggling with learning to shift the 4-speed spicer the first day had me questioning my insistence on getting a coach with a manual transmission but by the 3rd day all was well and the fact that I netted better than 10 mpg on the trip only backed up that decision.

So it was sad that Sam had to let it go but it helped to simplify his situation a bit and certainly made me happy. My wife and I look forward to our first rally later this spring.

I will also try to get a picture of that under-bed storage and post it here later.

I have to apologize to you Sam. I knew nothing of the particulars involving your change. I was assuming you were upgrading when I saw that you had gotten an 8. With your craftmanship you'll have that one looking incredible also. And welcome to the board Bob. Nice coach!!

Sam, what are those buttons on your shift lever? You got some kind of two speed rear end? Or did you move your reverse button over there?

Great looker. Mine will not be close.

Sam 4106

Hi LarryN 4106,
They are the King cruise control switches. Toggle switch for on-off, Momentary switch for set-resume, and rheostat to dial speed. If you want to increase or reduce speed turn the rheostat knob. I really used and enjoyed the cruise feature.
