Upping Dallas' reply. Check the bottom of the groove. It should not be shiney> .
The belts should ride on the flanges and not the bottom.

LOVE MY BUS!!!!

Just another experience with my bus and the generator. When I bought it and was heading home the women were following in the pickup. We had gone some 300 miles already. They called us and said that the bus was smoking bad. Looking in the mirror at the exhaust all was clear and the gauges and such showed everything as fine and we continued to the next exit. When I stopped and got out I could smell burning rubber and did a check on all the tires and brakes. Everything was fine and the women said that it quit after they called us. All was well the rest of the trip. I started the bus probably 10 times and such after getting home but one time as the air pressure reached the level that kicked in the generator it started smoking the belts big time. I walked back and opened the rear doors and shut it off. It was the generator belts! I started it back up and all was well. So I tried it again and once again it smoked the belts. This time they actually melted off one at a time as I watched even after I had shut it off! Plink, plink, plink, plink!! The gen would free wheel without power to it but would lock up once it was energized. The strange part was it didn't do it all the time. It would do it whenever the thought crossed it's mind. Sorry so long winded but just trying to relay an experience I had.
Seven Heaven.... I pray a lot every time I head down the road!!
