Hi robert, I remember you from chat. Age limit? You mean me or the coach?  I have regular insurance even though we're not running yet, wanted to be covered if the garage caught fire or something, too much invested in it now to lose it. So this is just forif you're on the road for assistance i guess. I'm hoping to be able to use it in July, to go to Myrtle beach. Working on getting it usable (though not finished) by then.

they are never done....referring to age of coach....I saw Good Sam offer before but the coach age left me out....insurance will not come to your shop and bring fuel or change a tire (might change a flat)..I'm getting to old to change tires on road but still carry air jack and tools just in case..Enjoy the beach and hope you have many more adventures in the coach.

you might want to check with your insurance.  many have emergency towing/repair included at no extra charge, if you have comprehensive coverage.  We also have AAA with the plus package for large RV towing and service, about $80per year.  Finally, we have Coach-Net thru Escapees, which we have for 3 years at about $290, which provides advice (marginal) before towing or service calls.

you could also search for previous threads on towing services.  there have been prior (within the past year) discussions.

Good luck.

Do some searches here on the MAK board you'll see lots on this subject.

I have Good Sam on my MC-5 and have only needed it once in the past four years. Flat tire in Pennsylvania. I called them; they dispatched a field service truck and technician who put my spare on for me. Then he checked stock and found that they had 12Rx22.5 in stock. The technician took my bad tire and rim back to the shop and on our way through the next morning, we picked up the new tire mounted/balanced. Only paid for the tire not the service call.

I've heard lots of good reports on Good Sam.

Biggest problem with Good Sam is the amount of junk mail you will receive from them for years. Got junk from them for 2 years after i quit them. We fulltime and have a mail forwarding service so we have to pay to have our mail sent to us. 50% of our mail was from Good Sam even though i asked them to take us off of their mailing list. Went to CoachNet and have been very happy with them. ;D

I have AAA RV+. Needed it once, when the top of my muffler blew off and then the fan flung that round disc into the radiator. They towed me 60 miles to a school near me, and I drove it the rest of the way (5 minutes) to my house.

We use CoachNet through FMCA.  They understand buses and never, ever send a truck that is too small.  They also tow you to the nearest shop, no matter how far that is.  There is also a CoachNet plan available through Escapees.  Either way it's just over a c-note a year, less than one tow or tire call.  We also have coverage through our insurance, but prefer CoachNet.  What the insurance company provides is very limited, and their dispatchers don't understand RVs and buses.

I have never heard of any kind of age limit from CoachNet.

I would stay away from Good Spam.  They are now even hiring people in Pakistan to spam people's blogs.  Harumph.

As noted, this subject has been extensively covered in the archives.

Good Sam works for me, can't complain about their service and it includes all your other vehicles as well. One service call, auto or bus, pays for a year's cost.

Bus age only applies for their repair insurance plan, this is not the same as a road emergency plan.

Their junk mailings are a pain in the rear but their road service is excellent.
