Pricing Help Needed On 2 Buses

Any of you fellows know how much a 1998 MCI 102 EL3 with a blown series 60 series is worth and also a 1996 H3-41 with a blown 60 series the bank has both for sale. 
I can buy both cheap but have no idea how much they would be worth with new engines both are intact nothing has been removed or any work started.
Both have B500R transmission and the bodies are clean the MCI E is a sharp bus I never knew they were such a good looking bus. got answers anyone

This is probably no help but didn't BK post about how the MCI E spent more time in the shop than on the road? Electrical problems I think. Or maybe that was another model...........

I would love to have an EL3, but by the time you put an engine in it, it would be way too much money for me. Maybe in a few years for the next one.

And not to hijack your thread, but if anyone's looking for an Eagle, a friend just sent me some photos of a seated NJT Eagle he's selling.
Looked pretty straight. A bit of rust showing in a baggage bay door. I've not seen the bus, so just going on the photos. He says it runs good.
Has aluminum wheels and good tread on the tires. Price seemed reasonable at 12K. If anyone's interested, email me and I'll put you in touch with him....

Clifford take whatever they'll pay you to haul the MCI off! The '98s were nightmares many many electrical problems, windshields popping out sitting parked in a lot with no one around, yada, yada, yada. (if you can find an unknowing buyer maybe 60-75,000 in running condition MAYBE!)

The 41' H3 on the other hand is probably worth $40-50,000 running and easier to sell!

With the market the way it is, I would guess anywhere from 40K (bottom dollar) to 60K.

If you get them, I hope they work out well for you.

Dallas, I agree, the curved window is nice for viewing, but those babies are pricey...lol. Hence why we painted ours black...lol.

I have a 60 from a truck...looking for a bus to put it in!

Here is scoop on the 2 buses I can buy both for under 25k the MCI has 473,000 miles and all new Michelin tires with Alcoa wheels with a B500 with 100,000 on the tranny a extra clean bus.
The H-41 has 515,000 miles it is clean also I don't know about the transmission and the tires are Firestone 400 about 80% with Alcoa's.
Speaking with my friend at Arrow he said the H-41 is no longer a bus operators want and are sold at auctions in the + or - 20,000 range and the EL3 will bring 30 to 35k at auction depending on the equipment and both in good running condition with records.  
Guess I need to do a little math and sleep on this one I thought they would bring more monies.
Looking at the mileage on these buses you guys with the million mile series 60 may be in trouble and according to Arrow that is about the life of one in a bus    thanks

I didn't read carefully. I missed that it was a H-41. Yup I agree, those are worth way less. Pass on that one, unless you can find a small outfit that wants it.

Second off, I agree. From what I know, the S60 is not a million mile engine... .

So hook DaveG up with the sellers and he can offer them a couple grand for one and put his truck motor in it and come out with a decent shell for a little work and a bit of money.

I don't know much about either of these buses but part of the decision might rest on what you mean by a blown engine.  Rebuildable core or scrap block?

Len, both bus engines have had a gear train failure (bull gear) they are rebuildable at a high cost the block is about all you can use and it requires machine work.
Fwiw WW Williams is asking 28 grand exchange for each just the engine in the crate nothing else

Clifford, we have had the discussion about bull gears in the past.  I have seen other mentions of buses/truck Series 60 engine failures from bull gear failures.

This issue scares the heck out of me, given my track record.  When I put the replacement engine in, I checked
for any movement in the bull gear and it seemed tight. 

All:  Is there a way to properly check the gear without removing the front cover?
