No it's not what you think. It's my Lug nuts. Seems I have two different styles of lug nuts on each of my wheels. Each wheel has half flanged type nuts and half standard type nuts. I could be wrong but I remember PO who ran a charter said he use to have stud mounted stainless wheel covers but took them off due to some states don't allow them. Would the flange style nut be for retaining the wheel covers? Do you think I should replace the flanged style nuts with standard lug nuts? Want to be safe.

If you have the older/stud piloted wheels using the Budd style nuts on the left (your picture) then I would change them all to the same. Your thinking on the wheel covers is probably correct.  Remember, it is a dry torque!

When I asked my wife what to do about my different nuts, she said just get rid of them we don't need them anymore. Ouch

As Dallas said, those are correct, and probably original equipment. The flanged nuts were used on every other stud. The flange is there to spread the load on the wheel surface
and help prevent cracking of the wheel. No idea if there's any proof behind the theory, but it sounds good, although I've never seen a wheel crack from the nuts.

But anyway, it's not a problem, and the flanged nuts were not for wheel simulators.
