Looks interesting, but how would you arrange to have the 48 volts required.
You don't have to believe everything you think.

Do you have any idea on price?

Thx

Hi Guy's,

It looks like you would need 2 of these in a bus since the heat side of the HP is 20,000 btus.

The cool side is a little more then one rooftop A/C so, two would be the number..

The 48v dc could be a problem for us unless we could split the 48v into two 24v banks for charging.

The pricing could be the deal breaker... ??

I checked out DC mini splits for trucks that are around the 10,000btu range.  While they would run on either 12 or 24 volts, they were really pricey-like around the $2,000.00 mark.  Much easier just to run a roof top off the inverter if need be.  Good Luck, TomC

Tom, what units did you look at?    24volt splits would be nice to look at.

I saw the original post here and because of the website title, I thought folks were thinking of powering these off solar panels.  Not really practical when you figure the size and cost of the panels needed. Now I'm seeing where folks are headed.  ::)
If you're going to be dumb, you gotta be tough.

I saw on an MCI conversion coach, the driver's AC was a 24 volt Carrier mounted in the spare tire bay. (no room for the tire.) The compressor was belt driven by a 24v. motor. I could not tell how many amps it drew.
